NEWSLETTER Week of 9-26-11

Have a GREAT weekend! I forgot to mention one thing on the Newsletter. If you have any extra copies of "appropriate" magazines or newspapers laying around, would you be able to send them in with your child? We would love to use them in a CENTER! Thanks so much! Happy Friday!

Homework...Teacher Error! Oops!

We have been practicing making 10's (5+5, 6+4).  The homework tonight was to play Tens Go Fish and Make 10.  On the recording sheet, please cross out the first line when recording your combinations of 10!  There are three lines to record your addends.  Please use only two.  Tomorrow I will send home a corrected version!  Sorry about the confusion!  Have fun playing your math games! :)

Happy Friday!

We have officially completed our first FULL week of school!  Yea!!!  To let you know off all the fun things we've done this week I sent home a paper copy of the newsletter.  Please look through the newsletter with your child and have him/her explain some of the activities!  We've been busy this week getting used to new activities and routines!  Next week please look for the newsletter to be posted on our BLOG.  I will post it there every Friday...hopefully! :)

Next week we will begin working in CENTERS.  We will start learning the routines and activities in our Reading, Math, Word Work, and Technology Centers.  One of our Word Work Centers requires the children to look through magazines and/or newspapers.  If you have any extra "appropriate" magazines or newspapers at home, Room 110 would really appreciate you donating those to our class!

Please ask your child about our GO Green assembly!  We've been busy making good choices!

Have a nice LONG weekend!  Enjoy the time with your family!  See you on Tuesday! :)

What a GREAT start!

Wow!  What a great start!  I just wanted to let you know that we've had a wonderful first couple of days.  We've already practiced telling time, following directions, and working with words!  The students are adjusting to the new routines and procedures.  Encourage them to keep up the super work. I told them today that I can't believe it's only the second day of school...they're doing so well! I'm very excited to see what the school year holds.  I know that it will be a time of learning and growing!  Please don't forget to send in all the forms from the packet!  Also, remember gym shoes on PE days and library books on Library day!  Thank you for your help in making this an exciting year! :)
